Bayview Avenue School was decked in the color red on Feb. 14 as staff members and students welcomed members of the Village of Freeport police for the school's annual Adopt-A-Cop Valentines Luncheon Celebration.
Before the luncheon began, each fourth-grade class presented a Valentine's Day card to their adopted police officer and took a class photo. Students also surprised the group of officers with a performance, where they danced and sang "Freeport's Finest." Soon after, they were joined by their adopted officer, where they engaged in conversation while enjoying freshly delivered pizza.
