Caroline G. Atkinson Intermediate School students of the Freeport School District participated in Star Lab through the Nassau Community College Liberty Partnership Program under the direction of Ms. Emily Hertzberg.
The Science Museum of Long Island brought a portable planetarium, where students discovered the night sky and mythology of ancient Greek and Native American people. In addition, students learned how to use star-maps to find constellations and how to locate planets. The experience was truly "out of this world."
