Students within the district were dancing, singing, clapping and stomping during the eighth annual districtwide Black History Month celebration. The Freeport High School's Performing Arts Center was packed with Board of Education members, administrators, parents and community members who witnessed the powerful performances displayed by students from each school as they honored the achievements and contributions African-Americans have instilled around the world.

"It is also a time to look forward to future African-American leaders, who will break records and make incredible changes in the world. This is an evening we all look forward to as our students, our future, amaze us through their awe-inspiring performances today."
