A Message from Superintendent of Schools

The Freeport Public Schools extends its condolences to the family and friends of Khaseen Morris, a former Freeport High School senior, who tragically passed away earlier this week. Khaseen Morris remains an integral part of the Freeport Public Schools community. Khaseen was a kind hearted, artistic and caring young man. He had an eclectic group of friends and a larger-than-life personality. Our staff has been providing grief counseling for those students in need and counseling will continue to be available as needed.

As we grieve this senseless loss, I know we will work together as our schools, parents and community come together to continue to empower our students to be kind and caring toward one another, to be responsive in time of need, and to deal with their emotions and stress in ways that encourage empathy and a sense of shared social responsibility.

We will continue to keep Khaseen's family in our thoughts during the difficult days ahead.

Dr. Kishore Kuncham
