Students and staff of the District's Archer Street, Leo F. Giblyn, and New Visions schools participated in the Girls on the Run, where girls and their running buddies completed a 5K race.
Girls on the Run is a nonprofit organization that works to encourage pre-teen girls to develop self-respect and a healthy lifestyle through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games, culminating in a celebratory 5K run.
The district mission is to make girls aware of their limitless potential to boldly pursue their dreams. The 5K run gives students a tangible sense of achievement as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals.
