The Freeport High School's Select Chorale took the audience on a musical journey during the New York State School Board Association 100th annual Convention and Education Expo in Rochester. Attending the performance was Freeport School District administrators and members of the board of education.
Under the direction of Monique Retzlaff, the group began its performance with a polyphonic piece, "Sicut lilium inter spinas," followed by a traditional spiritual, "My Lord, What a Mourning," and then completed with a saved harp tune, "On My Journey Home." The diverse musical program received a well-deserved rousing standing ovation.
