Nothing warms students and staff like J.W. Dodd Middle School's first gathering of the Mentor Program. Mentor Coordinator Ms. Felice Niland and teachers invited their mentees to the school's "Get to Know You" mentor/mentee party on Oct. 30.
Teachers donated snacks and beverages for the event, as mentors and mentees mingled and chatted with one another. The gathering gives students and staff an opportunity to get to know one another in a relaxed atmosphere.
Throughout the school year, mentors meet with their mentees on a regular basis for at least one hour a week. As is often the case, many of the mentors go above and beyond what is required.
