members of the National Honor Society in a special candlelighting ceremony. With families and friends in attendance, the students took an oath to upstand the pillars of the National Honor Society and continue to serve themselves and their community.

Eileen Shultis, FHS teacher and adviser, welcomed the inductees and their families before introducing the NHS officers. President Kiara Chombo, Vice President Efetobore Omokeni, Secretary Lesly-Hannah Gutierrez, Treasurer Sheilly Duque, Student Liaison Tyler Hawkins and Director of Community Service Ethan Lora each took turns speaking about scholarship, character, leadership and service, the four pillars of NHS.

Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kishore Kuncham, expressed his pride in the students, while reminding them of the responsibility that comes along with being a member of the NHS. "The National Honor Society is based on the four pillars of scholarship, character, leadership and service. Your desire to push yourselves in each of these areas is a testament to what can be attained when you set your goals, put in effort, and never give up. It is now up to you to inspire others by your own actions to make a difference."

Principal Joseph Mille, with the assistance of NHS president Kiara Chombo, presented the 85 inductees with a medal to represent their accomplishments as newly appointed members of the National Honor Society.

After raising their right hands and taking an oath to uphold the integrity of the National Honor Society, the students were officially members. The district congratulates the new inductees on their accomplishments and drive to obtain this prestigious distinction.
