Caroline G. Atkinson Intermediate School and J.W. Dodd Middle School were the recipients of 39 Chromebooks donated by nonprofit organizations PinkTie Charities and Givngo Fuel as well as the Freeport Chamber of Commerce.

On Jan. 14, Freeport Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kishore Kuncham, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, Glori Engel, and Director of Mathematics and Computer Technology, Dr. Anthony Murray, along with representatives from all three organizations, and Nassau County Legislature Debra Mulé, Assemblywoman Judy Griffin, and Mayor of Freeport Robert T. Kennedy were on hand to see the Chromebooks distributed to students in the Caroline G. Atkinson Intermediate School.

Dr. Murray expressed his thanks to the community organizations for their generous donation and to the local officials who support the district.

"With the donation of 39 Chromebooks and through your support and dedication to education, we are able to ensure that our students have the best technology available to aid in their educational journey," said Dr. Murray.
The Chromebooks donated by PinkTie, Givngo Fuel and the Freeport Chamber of Commerce are being distributed to students who currently have devices that need to be updated. With students working on a fully-remote schedule and others utilizing their Chromebooks for in-classroom lessons, the donation will allow for the continuation of seamless instruction.

"Our school is so grateful for the donation of the Chromebooks," said Gisselle Campbell-Ham, Caroline G. Atkinson Intermediate School principal. "Providing the proper technology to our students makes a huge impact in their education whether they are learning remotely or while they are in school."
