Columbus Avenue School kindergartners were transported to outer space after stepping into the school's library and gymnasium during Discovery Day.

When heading into the school library, kindergartners were greeted by members of the Freeport High School Robotics team. They led the students in an exciting activity, where they were tasked with controlling a robot to knock down blocks.

Students also experienced several hands-on stations that were set up around the gym. These stations included a discovery investigation station, spaceship photo op station, space shuttle station, control station that was led by an experienced pilot and more. Whether it was dressing like astronauts or exploring the kinetic sand table, students were engaged throughout the fun-filled day.
