Latino Parent University Brings Exciting, Educational Programs

The Freeport High School was packed with members of the community, as the district hosted its annual K-12 Latino Parent University night

The fun-filled event hosted several exciting activities for students, including bilingual read alouds, arts and crafts, and free English and Spanish books. In addition, parents had the opportunity to experience a variety of educational workshops, such as the road to success for your child, identifying and managing childhood anger, effects of trauma on learning and SKY Schools Stress management techniques for parents which included strategies and breathing techniques.

Participants were also entertained by the J.W. Dodd Middle School's Drama Club, as they provided a brief preview of its upcoming production of "Lion King Jr."
