Atkinson School's fifth and sixth grade students rolled up their sleeves to craft artwork for the annual Doodle 4 Google Art Contest.
This is the eighth year Atkinson School has joined the national contest, with more than 500 participants. With this year's theme "I Show Kindness By…" students were tasked to transform their ideas about how they show kindness into a doodle.
Google will pick 54 state and territory winners, four national finalists and then one grand prizewinner. The national winner will receive a $30,000 college scholarship, a $50,000 technology package for their school and their artwork will be placed on the Google homepage for a day. Freeport students will be submitting their work to Google by March 12.
