Dodd Middle School's Cultural Celebration Committee of the Freeport School District held two assemblies in honor of Black History Month.
The program was led by the students and supported by their adviser, Vashti Burke. The other committee members were teachers Dulce Rosario, Cristina Galioto, Cynthia McManus, John Wildermuth and Kristin Mascia.
There were group and solo musical performances, poetry readings, dancing and a performance by the step team. The district gives a special thank you to Dr. Sherrill Spruill and Nina Sasso.
