Message from the Superintendent of Schools
March 31st COVID-19 Update: re Schools Closed through April 14

Based on further clarification from the State Education Department regarding the Governor's Executive Order, please note that schools continue to remain closed during the period of April 1, 2020 through April 14, 2020. This date falls during the middle of Spring Recess. At this time, we are waiting for further clarification and guidance regarding the Spring Break. The Governor will be reassessing his decision in two weeks and the school closure may be extended. Freeport Schools will remain open Online until further notice. When we receive further information from the State Education Department, we will notify you accordingly.

Our Online E-Learning and Grab and Go Meals continues. Please make sure your child is completing their daily assignment including staying connected with their teachers. With schools closed longer, it is very important your child completes assignments. Check our website for E-Learning and Online Resource Center updates. If you have questions, please contact your building administration.

We will provide you with updates as they become available. Visit our website at www.freeportschools.org, download the Freeport Public Schools app and sign up for push notifications. Please remember to wash your hands, follow social distancing, and be safe and healthy. Thank you.

Regards,

Dr. Kishore Kuncham
