Message from the Superintendent of Schools
5-14-2020 COVID-19 Update: Last Day of School

Dear Freeport Families,

We hope you are all doing well. This has been a trying time for us all as we have continued to provide the best we can for our students and families. We appreciate your partnership as we have navigated the changes and challenges of this school year together. At this time, there is still no clarity from the Governor's last Executive Order(s) stating we must continue our E-Learning for the remainder of the academic year. We do know we are not able to use the Snow Days around the Memorial Day Weekend. We will be off for Memorial Day itself, Monday, May 25th, but E-Learning will take place on Friday, May 22nd and Tuesday, May 26th. However, we have made a district level decision and will be ending the school prior to our original date of June 26th. The last day of school for students will be June 12th . In the next weeks, while we continue our E-Learning and Grab and Go meals, we are planning for the end of the school year.

We will provide you with updates as they become available. Visit our website at www.freeportschools.org, download the Freeport Public Schools app and sign up for push notifications. Remember to wash your hands and follow social distancing and wear masks in public. Please be safe and be healthy. Thank you.

Regards,

Kishore Kuncham, Ed.D.
