Freeport Public Schools Honor Retirees
Posted on 06/17/2020

In a year unlike any other, the district continued their tradition of celebrating those staff members who are retiring at the end of the 2019-2020 school year. The Board of Education hosted a virtual ceremony recognizing the extraordinary dedication and services of 39 retirees.

In total, the 39 retirees represent 928 years of combined service to the Freeport School District, many ending their careers in the same district where they started. "My heartfelt congratulations to all our retirees," Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kishore Kuncham said. "You have embraced our 'Be the Change' theme for this year and have made a positive and lasting impact on the lives of all of our children in Freeport. You are all truly Changemakers. We thank you for your years of extraordinary service and wish you all the best as you begin the next chapter of your lives."

During the ceremony, the building principals read personal bios of each of the retirees and shared fond memories while the retirees joined in the virtual program from their homes. To commemorate this milestone event, each retiree received a commemorative plaque acknowledging their years of service.

Thank You
