Message from the Superintendent - Wearing of Masks in Schools - Important Update
Dear Freeport Families,
As an update to the message below, we have received notification from the New York State Education Department (NYSED) that the mask requirement in schools for staff, students and visitors will remain in effect until further notice. No changes will be made until after the CDC has reviewed the letter from the NYS Department of Health. We will continue to keep you updated.

Dear Freeport Families,
Various media outlets have been announcing that New York State will be relaxing the requirements of mask wearing for students and staff effective this Monday, June 7th. The New York State Department of Health has asked for clarification from the CDC concerning inconsistencies between current CDC guidance for schools versus the guidance for youth camps. The NYSDOH expects to provide further guidance on Monday. We will update you when we receive this further guidance.
