Message from the Superintendent - Wearing of Masks for Summer 2021
Posted on 07/09/2021

Dear Freeport Families,

The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) has informed school districts that wearing masks is no longer required for the 2021 Summer School program. Schools have the option to revise or maintain their current mask policies. NYSDOH strongly recommends the wearing of masks indoors by unvaccinated children. Freeport Public Schools will continue to follow our current mandate of wearing masks indoors for summer school programs. Wearing masks during outdoor activities is optional. The health and safety of our students and staff remains our priority and we urge you to continue to follow COVID-19 prevention strategies.

Guidance regarding the wearing of masks for the 2021-2022 school year should be forthcoming in the next weeks. We will share any updates for the 2021-2022 school year when we receive them. Thank you for your continued cooperation and support.

Regards,

Dr. Kishore Kuncham
