Message from the Superintendent re Incident in Freeport Village
Posted on 10/17/2022

Dear Freeport Families,

The District was made aware yesterday by the Freeport Police Department of two Freeport students who were shot in an incident which occurred in Freeport Village at approximately midnight on Saturday evening. The incident is currently under police investigation. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families.

There is no impact on our daily school operations and we will continue to follow our regular schedules and school safety protocols. The Freeport Police Department will provide additional police presence at our buildings as they have done since the beginning of the school year.

We encourage everyone to use social media responsibly. Please avoid sharing rumors and misinformation not supported by facts. It is important to say something or ask questions should you see or hear anything that raises concerns rather than spread misinformation and cause further concern for others. Please remind your children to be mindful of the same protocols.
Dr. Kishore Kuncham

Superintendent of Schools
