Fifth grade art students at Caroline G. Atkinson Intermediate School honored veterans by creating poppy flower art. The students learned the significance of why the poppy flower is used to honor veterans as well as why it is the enduring symbol of World War I.
After learning about the flower's importance, students then created poppy flower collages with tissue paper.
